Bearing Damage Index

Fluid film bearings are typically designed to be more compliant than more costly machine components like blades and rotors, which means that problems with rotating equipment will likely be detected first at the bearings. Since bearing damage is likely an indicator of another issue, it is critical that MRO personnel recognize a failure and take steps to identify its cause.

Our Bearing Damage Index covers some common types of damage, and their possible remedies.
